This picture postcard shows the butcher shop owned by my grandfathers cousin/uncle Charles Lenz. Charles married Annie Lenz my grandfathers aunt. It was a case of cousins married to cousins. She died from Thyroid Fever that tore thru the Conemaugh section of town in 1905 because of an unsafe water supply. If I told you the detail of what went wrong in Conemaugh - it would make you sick to your stomach. She left behind five very young childen. Charles later remarried and settled in the Sheridan section of Allegheny County.
