Cresson Coal Mine

Unknown early Coal Mine in the Cresson, Cambria County area.

Looks like the PA Coal and Coke's Cresson #9 Mine located off of Rte. 53 between Cresson and Gallitzin, PA in the area known as Cresson Shaft.

Recently came across some old photos of this mine.

Yes, this photo is shown in the book written by Sr. Anne Frances Pulling, "Around Cresson and the Alleghenies"

It is the Cresson shaft #9. The names of the men shown in the photo are listed under the picture in this book on page 49.

My grandfather worked in that mine and was killed by a rock cave in would like to know the names on pic and any other pic of the mine or the area thank you ( djpaul48@aol.com )
