David - Though i only lived a couple of houses from the school on Dibert St. I went to Somerset St. School. Moved to Dibert St. in the late 50's while in the 4th grade. Maybe Dibert St. school only went to the 3rd grade? Anyway i do know that i cut on social teeth on the Dibert St. school playground. Wish the photo showed the playground.

My mom says that Dibert St. School was grades 1-3, and Somerset St. School was 1-6 in the 1940s. Later, they introduced Kindergarten to Dibert St.

I went to kindergarten at Dibert St. in 1961. They had a big old bell you rang with a rope, but they seldom used it. Instead, when it was time for school to start, older kids (third graders) would holler out "Everybody In"!!
