This great shot of Oakhurst - 1970 was sent in by reader David DePra. He shot this from his attic in Oakhurst. It shows the view looking down the valley towards Cambria City. The closest street in the picture is Dorothy Avenue and on the right is the old Sheridan School which had been boarded up by that time.

Does anyone have a photo of either the old Sheridan School or the old Oakhurst School?
There are old photos of both on this website. Look under schools.
the house next to the school was my cousins house.the address was 473 dorothy avenue, leonard and richard chorba lived there in the 40's and 50's.
My aunt, uncle and cousins lived s few houses up from the old school at 495 Dorothy Avenue. I remember playing down at the school in the early 70's when we would visit in the summers
