Old Opera House - 1876

Opera House on Main Street - downtown Johnstown in 1876. Also John Benton Hardware along with the Franklin Billiard Hall. It's hard to tell what the other businesses are. But all in all, a very nice pre-1889 Flood look at the growing city. You have to wonder, how many people standing in this photograph survived the Flood.
Update: Reader Rick M says - Did anyone notice the sidewalk. Looks like a long Turkish rug. I see 2 circles, nice scrollwork along the buildings, and a border by the street. Was it bricks, tile or painted boards?
