This is the school I went too from from k through 3rd. It was the best time in my life, because I had my Grandparents close to me. After 3rd grade we move to Richland and things were never the same. I had real good teacher there Mrs. Galebreath, not sure of the spelling it was so long ago I was born in 49.
That's the same teacher I had. She offered to come to the hospital and teach me. What a great teacher. Thanks for posting. I sure would like to email you about old times if you care too. I live TN. thanks Jake noslowski@comcast.net
Thanks for posting, she is the same teacher I had. Did you go there in the 50*s like I did? She offered to come to the hospital to and tutor me, because I missed so much school.
I sure would like to email you back and forth if you want to. I live in TN Jake noslowski@comcast.net
Early 60s... Mrs Galbrath,1st Grade, Mrs Hockenberry,2nd, Miss Flynn, very scary 3rd Grade teacher, Mrs Doran, a sweetheart 4th Grade, Miss KuckKuck, a frustrated Old Maid 5th Grade teacher, and Mr Bulich, a phony blowhard... A lot of nice kids.
I went there as well, kindergarten through 6th grade. I used to live right down the street from Mrs Galbreath; I liked her as well. I vaguely remember Mrs Hockenberry Didn't she have blond hair? Mrs Flynn was very scary. Mrs Doran was a sweet lady. I made sure I failed 4th grade just to make her my teacher the next year. Mrs Cook Cook was cantankerous. For 6th grade I had Mr Flick, the dirty, stinky old man. He always had a BM stain on his pants and he would continuously jingle the change in his pocket. He would make the girls stand at the back of the room and write our missed spelling words 100 times; he would be sure to walk past every few minutes and rub the girls bottoms. I got upset after I realized it wasn't an accident and told my Dad. He went to the school and told Miss Winch he wanted to see Mr Flick. When she inquired as to why he told her he was going to beat the hell out of him for touching my butt. She tried to calm him down and he told her "I have never hit a woman in my life so you better move out of my way." Finally she talked him down and let him know he would be fired after an investigation. And he was.
