Our museum, owned by the Shade-Central City Historical Society, in Central City has a wonderful book on the Ship Hotel if anyone is interested. It was written by a Pittsburgh Historian. We also have a number of artifacts on the Ship on display.
As a child I was absolutely enamored with this place and begged my parents to pull over and explore. By the time I was a grownup and could make my own "pull over" decisions, it was decrepit and dangerous.
