McConaughy Street - 1942

Reader Eleanor Donovan sent in this picture of her and her grandmother Kiska standing on McConaughy Street in Cambria City in 1942. All I can say is that this stuff is gold to me - since pictures of McConaughy are so rare - thank you Eleanor.

    I have yet to meet anyone who grew up near McConaughy Street who would not go back at the drop of a hat. That neighborhood was Johnstown at it's best.

    Just discovered my husband's grandparents raised their family at 118 McConaughy St. based on a 1940 census.
