This picture was taken before the Johnstown Traction Company existed. This men are employed by the Johnstown Passenger Railway Company. Streetcars ran from Johnstown to Windber via Ferndale, Benscreek, Kelso (Krings), along the Stonycreek River (under the present-day McNally Bridge which carries US 219 over the valley) and eventually into Paint and Windber. Johnstown Traction Company introduces diesel bus service to Windber after it closed the rail line following the 1936 flood. After the flood the line only ran to Benscreek in front of St. Andrews Church.
