This Universal Newsreel was shot by George Gore from Johnstown. He was visiting his sister when the flood struck. Luckily, he'd brought with him, one reel of film. He was the first photog on the scene. And if you have ever shot on film - you know you can't waste what you shoot on b-roll - ever scene must count and you always edit in camera - which saved time afterwards.
That is just amazing. I've only ever seen photographs of the '36 Flood, and I guess I never really had a clear understanding of the severity of it. This was an eye-opener!
