This shot is so beautiful to me - I could walk right into the picture. Koch's in on the right hand side (they still have the best ham salad around). The trolley is just turnng onto Strayer.
Love the way the people are dressed ... You would think it was Sunday, only that streetcar only ran Mon - Fri, twice a day corresponding with the 7am - 3pm mill shift ...
Also, at the time of this photo, that store wasn't Koch's ... The original Koch drugstore was just out of the photo across the street ... This store was independently owned by a family that lived upstairs ... I can't remember their name ... One of the maybe dozen or so corner stores in the West End at the time ... I think Koch's may be the only one left ...

Was it Helsel's? I remember they had the best ham salad. I think they were in Moxham, in the 1950's.
