The ladies of the Fifth Ward (Kernville) have collected another box of hospital stores, which they design sending to Louisville, Kentucky, for the use of the sick and wounded soldiers at that point.

Old Johnstown Ad - 1862: If you want your lamps altered to burn carbon oil, at 25 per cent less than others charge, take them to the new Lamp Store on Franklin Street, and have it done. Geo. M. Hay

Around Town - Stony Creek Bridge - 1862

Around Johnstown - 1862: The frame of the old span of the Stony Creek Bridge, after being stripped of all superfluous weight, was jackscrewed up to a level with the new span - some twenty-four inches on Tuesday. The work of repairing it to correspond with the new span is being prosecuted with energy.
