The ladies of the Fifth Ward (Kernville) have collected another box of hospital stores, which they design sending to Louisville, Kentucky, for the use of the sick and wounded soldiers at that point.

Around Town - Stony Creek Bridge - 1862
Around Johnstown - 1862: The frame of the old span of the Stony Creek Bridge, after being stripped of all superfluous weight, was jackscrewed up to a level with the new span - some twenty-four inches on Tuesday. The work of repairing it to correspond with the new span is being prosecuted with energy.
