Central Hotel - Dunlo

Reader Jeff Powers sent in this picture of the Central Hotel in Dunlo, featuring a crowd gathered around the "Lanfair's Coronet Band". He says that the photo was probably taken around the 1910's. The Central Hotel is located on the main drag in Dunlo. He believes the building is still standing. His mother-in law, Yvonne Horner, and her husband John operated a tavern in this building during the 60's through the 80's . The photo was removed from the tavern when the building was sold in the early 1990's.

Dunlo, Cambria County

Another look at Dunlo - this time a picture postcard - street scene. Reader Karen M says: this is at the bottom of Huff Street. The building on the right is the Slovak Club and left is a theater according to my cousin Joe, but my mom says there was a store across the street. In the distance on the right, you can see Corpus Christi church tower which was closed last year.

Dunlo School House

They don't make them like this anymore. Nice picture postcard of an old school house in Dunlo. I have no idea if this building is still standing.
