For those of you who couldn't make it to the special dedication ceremony up the airport for Buzz Wagner - the First Ace of WWII - this is in honor of Buzz and all the men and women who fought and served our country abroad and in the home front during World War Two.

Mother of Flying Hero - 1941

Newspaper clipping from December 15, 1941 during the filming of the Fox Movietone Newsreel featuring Buzz Wagner's mother.  Remember - this was a week after Pearl Harbor. George Gore set it up (since he was from the area anyway). George was WJAC-TV's first photojournalist.

Buzz Wagner - First Ace - WW II

Vintage Repeat - I have a whole scrapbook full of Buzz Wagner and other World War II clippings. Buzz who was born in Nanty Glo, Cambria County grew up with my cousin Erma Rose Gloor. Buzz was the First Ace of World War II. His family later moved to Johnstown.
