Ferguson Truck

One of the trucks belonging to the Ferguson Meat Packing Company located in Cambria City - they took over the old Germania Brewery building - it later became Morris Paper Company and is now where JAHA is.
This is taken in what is now a small parking lot next to Point Stadium. The buildings you see behind the truck are part of the old Rolling Mill Mines.

Johnstown Johnnies - 1925

Up until 1940 - the Point Stadium never had a grass infield.

On a Crisp and Clear Day

Crisp and clear is how I would describe this shot looking down at the intersection of Johns and Washington Streets.
Blowing the picture up - you can see that this is pre-1936 from the lack of walls and all the growth in the river channel.

Roosevelt Blvd

This is a look at the construction of Roosevelt Blvd in the 1920's  - with the Washington Street Bridge and Point Stadium in the background. This was constructed to help ease the traffic problem along Iron Street.
What's so cool about this about this picture is you get to see a rare look at the extra set of seats on the old Point Stadium before the fire. This is about as clear as I could get it after I blew it up.

Old Point Stadium - Upper Deck

A reader sent in a request for a shot of the upper deck of the old Point Stadium - here you go. What's neat about this one is - if you click on it and enlarge it - on the upper left hand side you can see Rolling Mill Mines - one of the openings and some of their buildings.

A Slice of Downtown Life

Walked to town for the ballgame at the Point - so I stopped to take some pictures of Central Park. Not the best of weather for shooting. It had just finished up raining - one of the those dull....gray...misty kind of days.

Stopped at A Piece of Cake on Franklin Street for some of the best cupcakes EVER! And I don't say that about too many things.
Got a mix of flavors - it's hard to pick exactly which one is my favorite - because I like them all and could gladly eat them all.
They are the official cupcake of Point Stadium - baseball and cupcakes - always a winner.
My nephew is the batboy for the Berkey Hills Renegades.
Here he is talking with his pal Ben.
The foul ball I got - the league doesn't have much money - so it's a given you throw them back into play.

Washington Street Caboose

I can't remember if I posted this before or not - the old caboose along Washington Street - next to the Point Stadium.
