Heading over the bridge to Ferndale

On the Corner

Today a look at a few more of the gems that used to line Main Street. Liggetts Drug Store, W.T. Grant Co. - on the second floor: Dr. Rhodes & Son (Dentists), Morrell Beauty School - above Grants is a dance studio that I can't quite read the name of.
This is about as close as I can get it - but still not good enough for me - because I wanted to see what was in all the windows.

Building a Road

VJ Repeat - This is a look at the construction of Roosevelt Blvd in the 1920's  - with the Washington Street Bridge and Point Stadium in the background. This was constructed to help ease the traffic problem along Iron Street.
What's so cool about this about this picture is you get to see a rare look at the extra set of seats on the old Point Stadium before the fire. This is about as clear as I could get it after I blew it up.
