Cypress Victory Garden - 1918

Summer Repeat - The back of this photo only says Cypress Victory Garden 1918. So I'm not exactly sure which street this is off of - except to say Cypress. What impresses me most about some of these photos - are just how rural parts of Johnstown still were - heading into the 1920's.

Unknown Victory Garden - 1918

The back of this photo was not marked as to the location of this Victory Garden. The lone house in the background looks familiar to me.

Coopersdale Victory Garden - 1918

Summer repeat: This is a Victory Garden in Coopersdale in 1918 during World War I. These gardens were set up as a national way for civilians to help in their own war effort at home. These gardens were also done during World War II. This was an unused plot of land behind Cooper Avenue. I have more of these - which I will be posting from different neighborhoods - that have kids in them - so stayed tuned for more.
