Motorists don't mind seeing this mountain of ice on their trying travels through this treacherous territory. It's off the highway, near Route 711 just south of New Florence....holding a icycle from the gigantic ice cake is 16 year Carole Galbraith.

The Big Snow - 1958 - Franklin Borough

 
 Weather affects all, the sick and the healthy alike--and the recent storms put a sharp crimp in the schedule of the Community Nursing Service. Mrs. Barbara Schmidt, a member of the staff of the United Fund Agency, returns to her car after ministering to a patient in the house at right. It was the first time in two weeks that a nurse had been able to get through to the home on the hillside above Franklin Borough.
