Today marks the start of court testimony against the suspect Michael Moore - who is accused of murdering his first wife Ann (Boyle) Moore who left him years before. They had no children.
Meanwhile, Michael Moore married another woman in 1864 - Catherine Connell and had a son with her. Fast forward to March of 1872 - a man out with his dogs stumbles across the murder victim outside of Mineral Point near where part of the old Portage Railroad line used to go thru. He ran and got backup and by the time they all arrived back to the scene - parts of the murder victim were on fire. They see two sets of footprints going into the scene and one set heading out. That one piece of evidence for the most part is what the entire case will be based on. Just a warning - some of the testimony will be very graphic at times. Since there is just too much info to break down into small clips given the print size. I have posted the entire paper - just clip on it to enlarge it. You can also CLICK HERE to enlarge the newspaper.
