Roth Hotel - Cambria City

Roth Hotel - Cambria City sent in by reader William Striker of Johnstown, This is a hotel his grandfather - the man in the vest and white shirt - operated in Cambria City. It was located at 905 Broad Street - the Penelec Building now sits on the site. His Aunt Catherine Roth owned the building and her father William Striker was the proprietor of the hotel as far as they can determine. This photograph was taken around 1910 or so, and note that on the left hand side is an outhouse - which means the sanitary sewer line still hadn't made it up to this section of Broad Street. The names of the other men on this picture are unknown.
By the 1950's - the bar had a new set of owners and operated under the name of Renee's Tavern until that whole side of Broad Street was torn down.
