That photo would be the tracks that run behind DuPont Street. Cochran would be built on the opposite side of the river. The train is just approaching where Central Avenue is now next to Franco's Pizza. Moxham Lumber would be at the bend on the right side.
That is exactly where this is, I know I grew up on Dupont right in that area and know it very well. Back a little further on the hillside was an old mine that had some old coal car tracks that used to stick out a little bit. Probably the reason, up at the old Cypress Ave. playground, they would occasionally have a sink hole from the old mine. The other poster mentions Franco's, I remember Deardorff's Texaco being there. I used to work there back in '73 after school, my dad got me that job, he worked there as a car wash when he was in high school too. I wonder if the people at Franco's knows there is an old grease pit in their main dining area? Also used to play around those tracks too till I got busted by the railroad cops, mom gave me holy hell, never told dad about it. Don't think I would have lived through that one. I really miss the area, lots of good memories along with the bad. My folks at that time in '81 had to move out due to some flood control project that went straight through our house. Life goes on.
