Trolley Time
Intersections of Strayer, Decker and Corrine. Old Koch's on left by the stop sign. New Koch's is now where the second trolley is coming out of Corrine. Both old Koch's and the bar on the left are now gone.
I still stop in at Koch's to buy a lottery ticket when passing through Johnstown. Bob Koch Jr. sold the place (2021?) and retired, although new owners were still using the Koch name.
Spent many years visiting Johnstown, we were from Cleveland, OH. This was near my father's boyhood home. The home (457 Strayer St.) across from Babo's which used to be Abee's Albert LaBarko's service station back in the day. Was a light turquoise porcelain steel building. I think it was a Mobile Gas Station.
Eva's Bordon Dairy store was just diagonally across the street. I asked Bob Koch if he knew Eva's last name, as I never heard anyone use it. Still have fond memories of her penny candy counter.
Miss the smell of the bread from the Sunbeam Bakery when we'd go to church on Sunday.
