Assorted Holiday Lights - Johnstown Area

Time for a little holiday cheer.
We took a ride around town - checking out some of the holiday displays. Wish these pictures could truly show off all the brilliant colors and the music that goes along with it. But I shot everything from the car.
The Konicky Family - put on this display. After this stop - we rode thru other parts of the city.

Continuing on a Typhoid theme - 8 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Marsh is ill - August 1907

Typhoid Fever - Is Water Responsible?

Three new cases of Typhoid Fever reported at Conemaugh - August 1907 - Miss Mary Robinson of Greeve Street sent to Memorial Hospital - The other two cases are foreigners. My grandfathers Aunt Annie Lenz who was married to her cousin Charles Lenz died of Typhoid in 1905 - while they lived in Conemaugh. In my research - it seems that sections of Conemaugh had it worse than other parts of the city. But having said this - all Johnstown neighborhoods had their own sanitary problems. Especially parts of Morrellville - that lived near butcher shops.
