Salix Academy - Cambria County
Picture postcard of Salix Academy from around 1910. I have no idea if this building is still standing. If it is, it would be interesting to see its use now.

Lisa, there was a guy, GH Miller, who was well-known in the Salix area. GH Miller attended the Salix Academy. GH Miller had 3 daughters. One of these was Wilma born in 1922. Wilma had 3 kids, Gary, Larry, and Jeanne. Jeanne knew a lot about the building history of their stone house on the southwest end of Salix. Very sadly, Jeannie died a few years ago. Gary and Larry are still around. Both are oral surgeons. Gary lives in Saint Clair Shores, Michigan and Larry lives in Dallas, Texas. These 2 guys most likely know where the Salix Academy was because their grandfather went there. As far as I know, nothing that looks like that building is standing anywhere in the Salix area and I don't think it was there in the 1950s. You may want to contact them about the Salix Academy.
