The Beautiful Joe Johns

LOVE this shot of Joe Johns sent in by Barry Orner. This is just so clear and crisp. What I'd never noticed in any of the other shots was this:
The mosaic is just so beautiful!

Virginia Avenue - Morrellville

I know only two things about this picture - it was taken around the Virginia Avenue area in Morrellville around 1915. The girl on the right is my grandfather's sister Gene (Lenz) Swank. I wish I knew who the woman in the middle is - along with the girl on the left. I have no idea - they could also be Morrellville folks for all I know.

Acme Market - Morrellville

Another repeat - This is the old Acme Market at the corner of Delaware Avenue and Broad Street in Morrellville. The Delaware Underpass is just off on the left hand side (you can't see it). Acme is the store I remember shopping at the most growing up. The building is still there - it's now used by the Johnstown School District.

Baumer Street Playground

Another great repeat shot - Baumer Street Playground - it's been a while since I posted this. I'm working on a possible special project and would like some input from you - the reader - because I want it to be different. I asked this question on the Vintage Johnstown Facebook Page. So I am asking it again here. So what pictures and stories do you enjoy the most on this site? For those of you still in town - what modern groups or organizations do you think truly make a difference to our community? Was there a special person like a teacher who by going the extra mile - made a difference in your life? Do you have a famous relative in your family from Johntown?
It's things like this I am looking for - you can either comment here or send me an email at cacicia@hotmail.com.
