GM Aerotrain - Portage
Reader Jason - sent in this one of a kind shot taken - by his grandfather - of a GM Aerotrain..They only ever made two of them. This was taken along the train tracks in Portage, Cambria County

I don't remember the year, but my parents took me to see this train one night when it was in Johnston. I had just got out of the hospital that day. I was one sick kid, but my Dad knew I loved trains. I will never forget that night nor that train. Thanks for putting it on the net. Jake Trexel
Very cool posting...love to see American power and ingenuity from this era...in '56, the Aerotrain's schedule between NYC and Pittsburgh was timed so that westbound passengers traversed Horseshoe Curve at lunchtime, while eastbound passengers traversed the curve at dinner time.
