The swimming was in on the ground floor just right of the old auto on Market St and there was a running track above that circled the pool. The resturant was on the ground level just to the right of the main enterance. The lobby was on the second floor above the resturant and the boys activity room was above the lobby. I remember the bumper pool and ping pong tables.
It had a much, much, MUCH better pool than the one in the current YMCA. We used to be able to jump off the upper level into the 12 foot pool. The oval running track was above the gym. I believe the upper level above the swimming pool was for people to watch...not necessarily for running...at least that's the way I remember it back in the 70s.
Al, I beleive that the pool was 7 foot at the deep end. The lenght/width of that old pool was much smaller then their current pool. I believe that it was close in size to the old pool in the old Franklin High School.

Where in downtown Johnstown was this building located? Looks better than their current building.
The corner of Vine and Market, across from the Holiday Inn.
