These players comprised the Johnstown All-Stars, recognized as the Eastern Amateur Basketball Champions of Pennsylvania in 1907-08. Johnstown was declared state co-champion with Reading, Eastern powerhouse. The All-Stars played the University of Pennsylvania, the intercollegiate champion, in the opening game played at the new Auditorium. A record crowd of more than 2,000 persons saw the game.
