This picture of Main Street just invites you in - so much going on - that you don't know where to look first. You can almost hear the honking horns and the thousands of people walking on the sidewalks talking...and I would bet it smells too- considering horses were still used to haul and the mills were going full tilt. Central Park is to the left with Franklin Street across the middle. What I wouldn't give to just have a couple of hours walking thru the streets then - instead I have to be satisfied with taking these trips in my mind.

What got my attention was the 2 way traffic on Main St.
Absolutely love this one.
Two way traffic was allowed well into the 1960's.
