Brown Bagging It
Brown Bagging it with an old Thorofare bag - plus S & H Green Stamps. Looking at this - why did stores stop putting ice cream in bags like this - they used to put frozen items and meat products in bags within bags...and now they don't....why?

Don't you miss competition between grocery stores? We only have one big chain the Johnstown area today. The smaller ones are great people, but there used to be so many choices.
You have a choice now. Paid very high or pay higher yet. People shop at Walmart for the lower prices until the competition is out of business and then they will rise their prices. Unless you want to pay the Dirty Bird their prices.
Eventually Shop N Save was in Richland Mall too. Many communities had those AG Stores too. I know in Ebensburg there was one along High Street that had fresh meats and some grocery items.

I can remember Acme, Gee Bee, Riverside, Thorofare, Quaker, and A&P all coexisting and competing for customers.
