Gee Bee Department Store - Inside

There was nothing to me that can ever compare to shopping at Gee Bee. They always seemed to have had a little bit of everything. Gee Bee gave countless people their first job - including members of my own family. And for myself - I worked at Data Consultants - which was owned by Glossers and we did all the computer work for all the Gee Bee Stores. This picture is courtesy of JAHA.

A reader writes "Do you remember the Gee Bee theme song?" (Lisa - I myself do not - but I'm sure some of you other readers might)

In the 70's, I remember the Gee Bee commercials were sometimes voiced by Croy Pitzer, of WMAJ radio, State College. I don't remember the name of the(Very familiar) old tune - possibly a Sousa march..? I also don't remember all the words, I just "fake it" when I think of it once in awhile. There may even have been a "full" jingle with an entire commercial of just the words to the song? I partly remember the "short version", with just an opening and closing verse, with music in between, where the announcer would have given the "specials" for the week, or whatever the specific "spot" was for. Anyway, if this jogs your memory, I'd love to see corrections or additions:

As they say in the business - "I think it went something like this..."

(Drums and/or brass open)DUM-da-dum-dum-DUM-dum-dum-dum - Gee Bee, a fine department store - Gee Bee, the store we all adore --- you'll shop, and save at Gee Bee, the lowest prices and the best buys in town - Da-DUM-dum-dum-dum-dum-dum -

then - Announcer voice over music -then - I think the same words(?) were sung to close...
